Speechless

Well, you have done it. Rendered me speechless. People have been trying to shut me up for years, but apparently what it took is being Freshly Pressed and having the attention of thousands of people.

I want you to know that I have read each and every comment you’ve left here, on this post and the others. You’ve made me smile, sigh, chuckle, shake my head, and, every once in while, worry deeply about the mental state of a great many people like myself. I started out responding to each comment, but it quickly got to be my full-time job. So I wanted to tell you – all six-hundred-something of you (as of this moment) –  Thank You. I’m humbled and exhilarated and motivated by your compliments. I’ve really loved your stories of commiseration. I could not be happier that you like my writing.

I’m working on new “real” post, but in the meantime I wanted you to know that I’m grateful.

And losing sleep. (Nothing like a little pressure.)

  1. Keep it up and pray for the rest of us!! Lol

  2. Congratulations on your successful blog! Really enjoy your writing and glad I happened onto this. How did you get that many followers?

      Hi Miss Patty,
Thanks! All the followers happened when I was Freshly Pressed. Up until that moment, my blog was happily dirfitng in cyberspace, minding its own business, allowing me to practice my writing skills in relative isolation. Then BOOM! I’m still trying to get used to it.

Well done. But your last words were absolutely colourless! All the beiges, a couple of yellows, oranges, reds, purples, blues and greens. Boring really, a whole rainbow of boring! Only kidding!! We wait to hear what else you want to throw our way, us poor minions with so few followers!

no pressure … just keeping being you, and it will all fall into place … someone that can write something like The Crayon Facist and get us all reminiscing and giggling and nodding our heads doesn’t owe us a thing … you’ve already given us a shiny sparkling gem!

I’m sure that’s so overwhelming! You have such a lovely blog though 🙂 Congrats on so many viewers and comments!

Hehhee… here’s something to get you back on track & “speaking”…
I’ve nominated your blog for The Versatile Blogger Award. Please visit http://trippingdifferently.com for details.

This is quite a drop in traffic after 676 to date for “The Crayon Fascist”. Still thanking those that responded itself deserves thanks. Thanks. Adding this comment to your score for today may help to cushion the slide back to what will doubtless become a bigger normal daily audience. The price of success I guess. Congrats on a job well done.

You’re welcome! And thanks again…okay, I’ll stop here or we’ll be thanking each other for days… Honestly, I don’t know how to feel about the drop in traffic, because the spike was mind-blowing. But I guess if I just keep writing what I feel, the traffic will take care of itself. Glad you stopped by today. I hope the rest of your weekend is shiny.

The dramatic drop is normal. Freshly Pressed will get you a few new readers (and maybe a few new blogs to follow yourself).

    A year late, but congratulations.

🙂 Thank you! I’ve been thinking quite a bit these last few days about what being Freshly Pressed actually did to my psyche. I’m vowing to get OVER it this year, and keep writing. Even if no one but me likes it. (But, truly, it is nice when others like it.)

      Thanks for popping in!
